The College of Social Sciences (CSS) of Chinese Culture University was established in 1969 and was the first of its kind in Taiwan. The CSS is a multi-disciplinary academic institution integrating various disciplines in the field of social sciences. Founded on the values of the Chinese culture and combining divergent traditions from the multifaceted past in the Taiwanese history, CSS has set its goal to comprehensively enhance the competitiveness of the students in the college. To that end we have adopted a variety of methods including improving students’ international mobility through various channels including English education and international exchange programs; preparing students to outcompete their peers in the job market by working with enterprises and practicing internship; offering students with cross-discipline and cross-college courses; and finally, connecting with rest of the world through a refined network of international cooperation.
There are currently close to 2,300 students studying in the college, learning from a very experienced and well-educated pool of more than 100 full-time and part-time faculty members. CSS is composed of five undergraduate institutions including Departments of Political Science, Economics, Labor and Human Resources, Social Welfare, and Public Administration and Management, seven Master’s programs in Political Science, Economics, National Development and Mainland China Studies, Labor Science, Social Welfare, Youth and Child Welfare and Macao Overseas Master’s Program, and two doctoral programs in Politics Science and NDMCS. Nationwide, CSS has excelled in many fields including cross-Strait affairs, labor and social welfare.

In the face of globalization, rapid changes of technology and different expectations from the market we have attached great importance to the cultivation of cross-disciplinary education with various professional skills. CSS is aligned with enterprises and relevant government agencies to actively seek donation to promote interdisciplinary courses.

CSS actively promotes off-site teaching so that students get more international perspectives. Japan, South Korea, Europe, ASEAN countries and mainland China are the favored destinations.

CSS is actively conducting workplace internships for students, with destinations both in Taiwan and overseas.
4、Employment Counselling
The Various departments of the CSS offer employment counselling classes and sign cooperation agreements with enterprises to seek job opportunities.
